Re: As yet un-named, my OO layout starts.
Those fishplates look excellent! I've used a 'home made' version of those alignment tools you've pictured. They help align the rails on a tight curve between the layout and my removable shadow station/fiddle yard. https://i.postimg.cc/YjzgfcKv/IMG-20240611-WA0003.jpg Peg and Socket Aligners are used...

Re: Hornby BR(S) Green Bulleid Composite.
They do crop up on ebay, as has been said you just have to keep looking. A while back Kernows were selling a wide variety of BR/SR Bulleid brakes for £17.50. Picked up a couple to make up "Sets". Your probably aware of the following: R4886, R4888 and R4888A = Set 968 R4886A, R4888B and R48...

Re: Hornby BR(S) Green Bulleid Composite.
They still got them for around £40 a coach, so not terrible considering. I did buy 2 sets of the BR brakes + an odd one as I thought they would make a good parts donors if I didn't use them all. I have one SR composite coach here and at another SR composite on the way, which I may renumber/decal (p...

A bit more
https://i.postimg.cc/67FcFBLq/fence-1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/XpMJqmx5/fence-2.jpg Added in a bit of railway fencing, it looks satisfactory, I think. This is a unique feature of British railroading. In the United States, cattle were rarely fenced in, resulting in hamburger. https://i.postimg.cc/m1...

White Horse of Uffington https://i.postimg.cc/G9Ggy1pP/white-horse.jpg I viewed this as a younger man. I must say it astonished me. Re: Peco Crossings - reliable or troublesome ?
I used Peco and Hornby and found them to be entirely reliable. At my age, and reduced level of patience, I don't use sectional track anymore, as unless the baseboard is built with exquisite skill, all it takes is a few millimeters of expansion/contraction to raise a host of issues. I prefer crossing...
