hi thanks. is there anyway round this or do i need to use power leads to every offshoot. heard that using a staple works much like the hornby points clips.

I always use stone type ballast as sold. It goes a long way and doesn’t float when the glue is applied. On my O gauge layout I use OO ballast. When I had an OO layout I used N gauge. Also when you glue what ever you use in place use a 80/20 mix of water/PVA, it doesn't dry like concrete but more lik...

You need to add a CDU (capacitor discharge unit) to the set up and ensure you are using on-off-on momentary switches as it’s not clear from your comments which type of toggle switch you are using.

I am an N gauge modeler and have built my own platforms. Firstly, what nay be prototypically correct isn't always what looks best, especially in N gauge. Ah! One of the first things we read is make sure the longest locomotive/carriage/rolling stock can safely travel around the track.
Then a derailment, we blame the locomotive. It must be, because everything else runs smoothly.

Welcome Ghan (Tony). This is an excellent forum with lots of knowledge and humour. I agree with you, a hobby should be fun not a task. We do like lots of pictures.
