Re: Embankments..

Hi Andruec, I walk along a long dissed track at a place called Longslade, and despite being in the middle of the countryside, I’m always struck about how flat & regular the sides are. The only fluctuations visible are its relative height to the surrounding ground - sometimes its only a few feet ...

Re: On your marks, get set.....

Wow! Thanks very much everyone 👍🏻. It was easy enough once I'd got my thoughts straight and the scale right. I've been advised by his Lordship that my next creation is going to be a dock with the QE2 approaching it 😱.... lord knows how I'll do that - fall flat on my face I expect 😂 I've found some '...

Re: On your marks, get set.....

Hello again everyone, sorry - back to work now so time is a little limited. Many thanks for the advice about the connectors - I actually got the man in the shop in Poole to show me exactly how to connect the tracks and by his own admission, the Peco connectors were exceptionally tight. He happily ta...

Re: On your marks, get set.....

One of the secrets of joing track is to do it on a flat surface, not waving it about in the air. It really isn’t difficult, just take your time. :) When you said Pico did you mean Peco or Piko. In my view Peco is the very best. Yes, my apologies, Peco! And yes, on a flat surface against a hard perp...

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway

I’ve not read all the posts on this thread, but I’m delighted that you’ve done Gdynia - my family come from this town, and I’ve ridden on this railway!

Happy memories, thank you 😊

Re: On your marks, get set.....

So here we are a few days on from completing the baseboard... And if I ever have to connect another piece of track ever again, I think I might need to go and live in a chocolate factory & have a wine tanker deliver every day....😳😂😂😂 Seriously though, pico were the only brand I could get whilst s...

Re: Hello, total newbie, near Southampton

Hi Andruec, it’s “00” We’ve just been placing track on the board to see what we like at the moment, and playing around with the possibilities. We can get an oval on the right but will be splitting track into 3 on the left (or at least that’s today’s plan 😂) We’ve thought about elevating some track b...
