Hi all. So taking all the advice here into account, and from elsewhere, I have removed all of the excess lube from the chassis and axles with a dry cottonbud. All seems fine now on the three locos I was having issues with! I might dry the graphite powder though if I have future probs. Thanks to one ...

Good thought but I'm only using the tip of an unbent paperclip to put on a tiny drop.
I'm wondering if for these locos I might need something heavier? I tried sewing machine oil prior to no avail.
All my other locos (old and new) are fine
