Re: Short Circuit WD Austerity 2-8-0

Thanks Brian. Its analogue. Will try the insulating tape, but will probably find the body will be even more difficult to refit. May have to "fettle" it a bit.

Short Circuit WD Austerity 2-8-0

Hi all. My WD Austerity 32-252 was showing a short circuit on my controller which I could not find. It went back to Bachmanns who fixed it but did not say what the problem was. Ran ok for a month, then the motor failed, was returned to Bachmann who fitted a new motor. It has run ok for a while, but ...

Re: Ballast noise

Thanks for the replies. Interesting idea for legs and insulation. Should be easy and quick to do, but lots of other attachments to rafters which would be difficult. Could also persuade bedroom dwellers to leave home!

Re: Ballast noise

Thanks for your reply Brian. Have presented the bedroom dwellers with noise reducing headphones as a temporary measure. Would sound insulation glued to the underside of the baseboards have any effect?

Ballast noise

Hi all. New here - be gentle. I have an OO loft layout laid on chipboard, no underlay, quite large, which has been in build for 20 years. It runs very well so I decided to do the ballasting. Now here is the problem. The ballasted sections are extremely noisy compared to the non ballasted sections. S...
