Kit has arrived today. These aren't the best kits for detail but it's something to get my teeth into as this is my first ever wagon kit build.

Kevin's occasional BR steel mineral wagon build..

After so many false starts and failed layout builds I find my interest in the hobby is building the occasional wagon kit. So my first kit is a Dapol 16 ton BR steel mineral wagon kit. 8-)

Hi again from the POD. I have added the uprights where the coal Staithe will be situated. ;)

Some progress is beginning to take place on the wagon plank build. The baseboard from SMS has been built and a length of peco track has been glued in place. Basic weathering to the track has been completed and once ballast is complete I will then weather the track a bit more using powders. I will up...

Hi Daryll have you thought about using a plastic Christmas tree box or wrapping paper box. These are ideal for storing and building a micro layout in.
Scalemodelscenery make baseboard for these types of boxes.
