I'm really quite pleased with it. At the moment sat on my work bench is another work ...

Re: Hornby Dublo 3 Rail

https://i.postimg.cc/YGh7WTwJ/Screenshot-20230312-152953-Gallery.jpg I can definitely recommend using ply rather than other materials. It can take a lot of weight with out significant extra bracing. This is part of my dad's layout (I built the boards for him 6 years ago and they haven't moved a bit...

Re: New to DCC- any advice?

They never went full speed some would just crawl which if I didnt notice caused various incidents. Perhaps it was just the fact they were tts chips as no other chip did it. And like I said it must have been coincidence that they started behaving. So sorry for giving bad advice just personal experien...

Re: New to DCC- any advice?

Contradict away I'm only going on experience. Had a ring main on layout had problems with a certain brand of cheap sound decoders where noise in the dcc signal would affect them. Quite worrying when locos just move off on their own and nothing but turning power off would stop them. Was told to break...

Re: New to DCC- any advice?

Coiled cable seems a bit daft to include! The coiled cable is there for when you upgrade to a 5amp booster the hand held controller then comes a dumb unit with the brains transfered to the booster allowing u to unplug from 1 place and goto another with out trains stopping. If you have 2 brains work...

Re: Lima Class 37 - buffer beam skirts

Its not been butchered in anyway thats how it was produced by lima. There were some kits made years ago that had the likes of white metal skirts etc to add to the lima loco but they weren't great by todays standards. U can some times get skirted bodies on ebay. If u Google lima d6999 this is a loco ...

Re: Help please locos keep breaking

Hi In Brian's Post he mentions using a fibre pencil for cleaning the commutator id just say clean with ipa, meths or lighter fluid first before using a burnishing brush. If there is any heavy tarnishing after that gentle use of a burnishing brush is OK but if done wrong it will put crosshatching in t...

Re: Bachmann Class 37 Sound fitted issue

When u say you ve reset the chip I take it u mean set cv8 to 8. If so did u try the loco on the gaugemaster as address 3 and did it work ok. If yes the there seems a problem with the original full address. Try a slightly different full address and see what happens. If no then it's a decoder problem....

Re: Starting to get back into modeling

Next project to leave the work bench is heljan large prairie inspired by a pic of real loco in steam world magazine. Driver of 6168 looks on wondering if the signalman will ever clear the signal. While looking unkempt 6168 has had new brake blocks so there life left in her yet. https://i.postimg.cc/...

Re: CHINESE HO EXHIBITION LAYOUT

Awesome layout
Awesome video.
Wish I could of made it to NEC to see it. There's something about the Chinese steam locos that I like.
Glad to hear it's starting to behave itself for you.
