Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

The retaining walls are only Metcalfe card kits, to which, sometime ago, I added small LED lights into the top of each arch. It caused a few amusing comments at the time. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50806662491_8329851e76_k.jpg IMG_0823 by Barry Clayton , on Flickr A model railway with mood...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

Britannia 70000 paid a visit to Wykeham today. I have fitted the loco with a HM7000 sound decoder and speaker - this all went into the loco, and the speaker sits immediately below the chimney (where else?). The chime whistle on this loco profile is superb. I have seen the real loco many times and t...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

After very many months, both turntables are now operational. The Gaugemaster Panel Track Controller operates both turntables independently. The illuminated gizmo above the panel is the Hornby Dongle - this allows a loco with any type of decoder to be operated by my iPhone. https://live.staticflickr...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

That is a great deal of stuff! Setting that up and getting it working should be satisfying.

bulleidboy wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 11:34 pm Good progress James. I think I would have used Peco Inspections pits - they come with either Codee 100 or 75 track, and would have saved you carving up the sleepers - I appreciate once "concreted" in place, they look as they should.
Yes, in retrospect, that may have been easier!

Re: Bournahempton [1936 - Southern Railway - 00 - automated]

Interesting photos showing good progress. Just curious, what did you use to mark out the track plan prior to tracklaying? The people who made the baseboards managed to print this onto the baseboards from SCARM using a special printer. This is, apparently, the first time that they have done this, an...

Re: Bournahempton [1936 - Southern Railway - 00 - automated]

I see that I have not posted here in a long time! Work on this is coming on very slowly. I was substantially delayed at the beginning of the year because of building works in my house which have carried on far longer than were anticipated and are still not fully complete. I have made some progress, ...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

You will need to post a picture of what the photograph that the photographer is taking would have been once you have painted them!
