Re: Hornby 00 gauge Stephenson's "Rocket"

I'm thinking of rewiring mine using a TCS 1410 4 pole connector to overcome the soldered wires and fitting a NEM18 decoder socket in the water tank. The one snag is the wires from the loco side of the connector are going to have to be very carefully cut to length as there is little space to store ex...

Re: Hornby 00 gauge Stephenson's "Rocket"

The Rocket is simply a poorly design model poorly presented. Hornby have shown what they can do with Locomotion which comes pretty well attached to its tender and the packaging forms a servicing cradle exactly what Rocket should have. The poor soldered connections to the tender are only part of the ...

Re: EFE Class 35

Its the Heljan 35 bar the improvements that the Heljan 35 now has - presumably a production run that Heljan otherwise would have halted given the decision to fit LEDs and a 21 pin decoder socket.

Re: Hornby - 2023 Announcements

With the amount of locos awaited from previous years do we really need announcement of more. What woild be good although I very much doubt it is full availaibility of spare parts right down to individual parts of a body aka Heljan

Re: How on earth do I DCC this!

No one does a 04 to modern standard yet; one has been announced by Rapido. I used the dcc ready Bachmann 03 chassis on mine which did need the wheel centres tweaking with milliput and etched balance weights alomng with body fixing arrangments tweaked. It was when I decided to replace the handrails I...
