Re: Contact

I’m renovating an old OO set. Despite cleaning rails and tracks and wheels etc etc the engines still seem to stop and go. Is it advisable to connect the power at several points in a given circuit? (The points are insulfrog)
Thanks

Re: Splitting board. OO.

Thanks very much for all the help. I was thinking (wrongly I guess) that the rail ends on the join line would be connected by slip-on fishplates. But instead one lines the ends up (using dowels etc as you say) and solder short wires on that disappear under the board and are connected to the appropri...

Splitting board. OO.

Because of space constraints and doorways etc I need to arrange for this board to be splittable. It’s 8x4 feet. The rails will all need to joined along the line where the boards are split. So far so good. But how can one pull them apart and rejoin without damage? The rails will be fixed down - one d...

Thanks again very much - and for pointing out that it’s 16v AC! I hadn’t appreciated that.

Re: Points switches

Many thanks. I think those switches are pretty old - do you recognise them at all?! The have PECO on them. If necessary can you recommend any replacements? Very grateful.

Points switches

Hello. I am trying to renovate the electrics on a 2 track system. There are several points with motors. The switches though all look a little knackered (and possibly obsolete). Please see photo. The wiring is also a bit different from what I've read. The switches seem to be wired across the motor (p...

Re: Resurrection

Thanks very much. I'll get the book.

The good news is the track is not magnetic! Would "Guagemaster twin track power cased controller model D" fit the bill? £112.

Thanks again
