Re: Converting a 12V led signal to 5V
Hi Assuming the signals are lit by LEDs, 10K (10,000 Ohm) is quite high! Are you sure its not 1K (1,000 Ohm)? 1K is the more usual resistance for LEDs on 12 volts DC. Eckon / Berko are one such supplier who use 1K resistor. They AFAIK always use common Cathode (Negative). A four aspect signal would...

Converting a 12V led signal to 5V
Hi All. I've noticed some signal kits available on various sites that stipulate 12v supply - and I quite like these but want to operate from the 5v outputs of an Arduino. is this possible? The 4 aspect kit is supplied with a 10K resistor which (i believe) wires to the common anode of the LEDS. Is it...

Re: Ardunio users ?
Hi ChuffChuff, I've just found your post about using Arduinos - posted back in 2020 and my answer is yes
I'm still in the R&D stage but have built a DCC controller using one and am using them to control/monitor servos and sensors.
But still very much work in progress

Automatic signalling on a dual loop (DCC) layout
Hi all - I hope this is in the right area of the forum. On YouTube there are lots of good videos on how to automate signalling using Arduinos. They seem to be based on different forms of block detection - I understand this. Some of them work on the principle that once a train has been detected then ...

Re: Hello everyone
Thank you everyone for your welcomes. This is a project that I'm taking slowly...I wouldn't be surprised if I don't lay any track for a couple of months. A couple of years ago I acquired a baseboard with a trackmat graphic on the top of it (no track though) but it has been sat collecting dust behind...

Re: Station Information Display (Work in progress)
Lol Mr Bones :) At the moment my desktop also doubles as my office desk from when I am working from home and my workbench when dabbling in hobbies. If it wasn't so untidy I would post a photo but current "interesting items" include two Arduino Unos and an Arduino Mega whilst I build myself...
