Getting About Henley: Then & Now

https://youtu.be/rFUlRp7c3C0 One of the advantages of a preformed roadbed is that one can revise it with a minimum of trouble. Those layouts—and I admire them—with glued-in ballast are literally set in stone. It took about two hours to remove a 4 x 8 section so that I could park the car in the garag...

A Brief History of Henley

Often, I think that if we were to stick a spade in any spot in the UK, history or prehistory would be unearthed. Thus, while mere mortals only model modern history, the clock has been rolled back to 1204, when Henley was founded. Everything is pure fiction, but I enjoyed a year living abroad in 1964...

Re: A dilemma

My wife told me it was either me or the trains. I'll sure miss her. But then there is Z scale. One should not overlook T scale.

Re: A dilemma

May I suggest you move your furniture to the garage and put the layout in the living room area.

Re: Hornby Lion side rod problem: advice please

I am thinking of using a small c clamp and trying to gently press it in. It does not appear the notch corresponds to anything inside the wheel. If so, are the side rods opposed to each other, one up and one down? Please help before I do something I'll regret.

Re: Hornby Lion side rod problem: advice please

Now the other side rod fell off, completely. One of the pins has a slight notch. No matter how I wiggle and press I cannot get it to slot back in. Two options: remove the things (yuk) or send them back over the ocean to Hornby, which I probably shall. It is a lovely model, but these side rods are my...
