Re: Locomotion Models

Frankly, if their 'interaction' is that bad when someone is trying to buy something from them, how good is it going to be if you have a problem with an item purchased from them?

If I had had the same experience as the OP, I'd have been looking elsewhere to take my custom.

Re: In The Greenwood and laser cut buildings pros and cons

I have seen a number of laser cut kits at various model shows, but haven't tried any yet. What puts me off is the obvious joints on most corners where the parts dovetail together. Unfortunately I don't have enough confidence in my artistic skills that I would be able to do a decent job of hiding the...

Re: Soldering Flux

Whilst I do have flux in both liquid and paste form, most of the time I forget to use it, or haven't needed to. As long as the parts you are trying to join are clean, I find that tinning them and then joining them works fine using flux cored solder. This has worked for me on electronic components to...

Re: Hi from Dawn

Bit late to say welcome, as I don't log on to the forum that often, but wanted to say that I have seen your YT videos and that I think your layout Close Encounter looks absolutely amazing.

Re: Lights in an old Bachmann Class 42 Warship

Just as a side note, I used individual LEDs and had to provide appropriate resistors, which were different values for the red and white. If anyone is contemplating a similar project, I'd be happy to provide a diagram showing how it was all wired.

Re: Lights in an old Bachmann Class 42 Warship

Thank you.

I need to straighten that buffer, and I still have the buffer beam detail to add, but I think it will be fine when all done.

Lights in an old Bachmann Class 42 Warship

I had a break from railway modelling for some 20+ years after a move of house, but have been back in the hobby now for coming up tp two years. About 18 months ago I started work on a new layout which I originally intended to be DC, but having seen how far DCC had progressed in the intervening years ...

Re: Hello

Welcome on board Garry. Mine's a similar story - started a layout some 20+ years ago, only to move house and lacking space in the new abode to start another one. I've only been putting my new layout together for about 6 months, so have found it a steep learning curve having also decided to go DCC, b...
