Re: Beacombe in the Sunny South!
That's looking very good - Beacombe is certainly a layout to watch. Have fun with the 3rd rail. Thanks, glad you like it. I did make a start on the 3rd rail but it was so monotonous that I gave-up after an hour and had a beer instead. I think I'd build it all differently if I started again - I've m...

Beacombe in the Sunny South!
Beacombe is the first layout I've built after a hiatus of over 40 years away from the hobby. In fact it's the first layout ever, all my others as a young teenager were very much in the 'train set' category. Beacombe is a small seaside town somewhere between Southampton and Bournemouth and the DC lay...

Re: Help with a Completed DJH Kit Please
Presumably the loco runs perfectly elsewhere on the layout? If so, the derailing is a symptom of an underlying fault related to that specific part of the track. It may be more challenging but it's always best to treat the cause rather than the symptom. Maybe post some pictures of the 'tricky track'...

I'm very late to the table, having only just joined the forum...... That's a wonderful layout! Looks as if your woodworking skills are pretty good as well. Where did the SR concrete platforms come from?

Help with a Completed DJH Kit Please
Hello all, I recently bought a s/h ready built DJH kit of a BR Standard 4MT tank. As can be seen, it's been built/weathered to a good standard and I'm really impressed. There's a problem though which I hadn't thought through before buying it - there is an area of uneven track on my layout that coinc...

Re: Painting and Weathering Service
Hello Steve, I've only recently joined the forum and am wondering whether you still offer your weathering services (I realise you've stopped repainting)? I'm waiting for EFE's next batch of SR 'Booster' electrics to be released and I'd like mine to be quite heavily weathered and tatty looking. Is th...

Re: Greetings All....
Welcome - you have joined a great forum. It might be a little quiet at the moment, as it's summer and members are doing other things. I have a BR (SR) layout, which includes the 3rd rail. I run Bulleid pacifics, a Class 205 "Thumper" and many other SR loco's from the 50/60's period. Only ...

Greetings All....
Just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello. I came back to modelling after a long hiatus and am slowly building my first proper layout. It represents BR's Southern Region in the mid-1960s and is set somewhere on the south coast as electrification is nearing completion. It means I can run steam,...
