Re: As yet un-named

First of all thanks for the kind words since my last post. Lovely to read. More lights, now worked how to get them hooked up to my Gaugemaster controller so rewired a few bits here and there. Got some basic interiors done for the low level station with accompanying bridge. Recent selling of my old L...

Re: As yet un-named

First time dabbling with lights, pleased with the outcome. Justifies the detail I've put inside the bespoke depot I've made! https://i.postimg.cc/svJWDz06/20240902-210446.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/N26HXvG0/20240902-210507.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/vcy9sTXx/20240902-210533.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/K4BL...

Re: As yet un-named

Hi all, haven't updated, but I've been busy as you can see! Last of the track finally (but temporarily laid), just awaiting a delivery of additional dropper wiring before fully screwing everything down. Bit of fettling to do on wood uprights, shaving an mm off or 2 to get as level as I can. It's gre...

Haven't posted for a while, thought I'd show a few updates of Diesel Depot from its origins to nearly complete https://i.postimg.cc/CZRtrYcQ/20230116-200137.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/H89P8LLV/20230206-173839.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LgpbsP2c/20230402-163109.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/w1vb3gYj/20230427-...

Newcastle Model Rail event rearranged?

Hi all, Was looking forward to attending the Model Rail event held at Jesmond Manor school in Newcastle, but due to ongoing issues with the roof this was cancelled. Does anyone know if this is to be rearranged? This is the only event these days up here of any size, and a shame what happened consider...

Re: Catenary height versus raised pantographs?

Thanks for the replies.

Just using the masts for effect definitelynot doing the contact wires too!

Going to mount the mast bases on small magnets so when my running session is diesel only I can simply take them off.

Thanks

Catenary height versus raised pantographs?

Hi all, Just running a few tests, and after scouring the web, the recommended height for pantographs on OO to be set is around 59mm to clear the catenary masts. Issue I have is locos have them either down or fully raised but nothing in-between. Can anyone suggest anything please? I've tried a very s...

I use plastic packaging that house bits you need to snip out. They're already curved at each end and once filed, cut and painted look ok

Bespoke diesel depot - materials to recommend?

Hi all, I'm thinking of making my own bespoke diesel depot with adjoining offices / stores for my OO layout (late 80s / 90s themed) and was looking for advice regarding materials to use. I'm not wanting to make this in card due to strength and warping over time, so prefer the plastic route. The oute...
