Re: Keeping it clean
Hi ajcooper4. I have had the very same problem, with a small 0-6-0 loco, a Barcley Ajax. It would run ok, and then stall at the same place it had run over before. The answer I found, was to have the Stay Alive fitted. It will now run slowly all round my layout without stopping. It gives about two to...

Re: Barclay 00-6-0
The Barclay arrived this morning. I ordered it on Monday, but they are busy it seems. It`s not as heavy as my Hornby 08, but about the same length, so I need to clean the track well. Took a little while to get going. I tried CV8, as this resets to shop default. But no joy. Selecting CV3 worked. Soun...

Re: Barclay 00-6-0
Thanks for that info yelrow. A lot of it refers to 0-4-0 `s, the 0-6-0 loco was used in several industries in the UK, although other information suggests it is a Spanish based loco. Two posts about faulty motors that smoked, I assume this problem has been solved now. All say it`s a sweet runner, so ...

Barclay 00-6-0
I have found a small 00 steam shunter for my industrial layout. It`s a Barclay 0-6-0T Ajax. Fitted with sound. I would like to know if anyone has this loco, and how well it runs. I cannot find out the length of it either.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: Enamel paint
Thanks Steve.
I have tried white matt emulsion as an undercoat for plasticard. It appears to be ok for acrylic, and not too bad with Humbrol enamel. But this still needs two coats to look it`s best.

Re: Enamel paint
Thank you all for our replies. It would appear Humbrol is not what it was. Acrylic is ok on paper, but I have found it difficult to cover on plastics. Looks like experiment time...

Enamel paint
I used Humbrol Enamel paint for modelling years ago, and I do not remember the problem I am having now. Either plastic kits, or building with plasticard sheet, this paint does not cover very well. I have to use two coats. I have tried cleaning the plastic with methylated spirit, but there is no diff...
