Re: Mimic Boards

It works, and all the points and crossings routes are aligned with the mimic board lights.
For those interested I’ve been using Cobalt iP Analog and Omega Switch pack with LEDs.

Now with added switches and LEDs. But not yet connected up so I don’t know if it actually works!

Mimic Boards

Well, I took the plunge and am making my own mimic board using 2.5 by 1.0 cm soft wood from B&Q and some 3mm hardboard I had hanging around. I made the track plan on light coloured graph paper, added the lines with black felt tip, printed the numbers and cut them out and stuck them on the paper ...

Manufacturers of mimic boards/control panels

I am looking for someone who will manufacture a mimic board/control panel for me. Essentially I need the panel surface marked out with the track layout in schematic form and the holes pre-drilled for the LEDs and point switches. The whole to be mounted on a box or frame which can be fixed to the edg...

Re: Peco Setrack curved points

Is wrote to the Peco Technical Bureau asking when the new SL curved points would be available and they have replied that it should be towards the end of the year. However they didn’t answer my other questions: whether the new points would address the issues of the existing setrack curved points and ...

Re: Peco Setrack curved points

Im glad to see this development. The changes I made to the layout to avoid the Setrack curved points don’t work so it’s all coming up again and I’ve devised a layout which uses just one Setrack curved point rather than the three originally included. I’m going to temporarily install that and try to a...

Re: Peco Setrack curved points

The new Peco Catalogue has curved small radius points ‘in development’ in the Streamline code 100 range: SLU 76/77. They will be the new Peco standard unifrog. The radius of both curves, 438mm, appears to be that of the Setrack radius 2 curves. I wonder whether and how Peco are going avoid the issue...

Decoders for Hornby M7

I’m looking for a decoder suitable for fitting into the Hornby M7 without too much hassle. I had the first of my M7 locos hard wired professionally because of the very limited space inside. Looking at the loco with the body removed the socket looks as if it would take a direct plug-in decoder withou...
