Re: Should I use 00 or N gauge
I went straight to N gauge as it offered the chance to have star bigger layout than I could have had with OO. It's a matter of personal choice at the end of the day but if space is an issue, you can do so much more in n gauge.

Re: Make of track is straining my Brain
I know what I do with the extra time I save, upgrading scenery and actually running the layout. But I get that people take enjoyment from different aspects, I.e the electrics, scenery to name but two. What ever gives you the enjoyment is the right thing for you.

Re: Make of track is straining my Brain
I guess it wouldn't do for everyone to like the same. I do remember having wastage and broken track from using the flexitrack. I have to say I have never had to throw a piece of Kato track away and the expandable pieces are great in terms of not having to make precise measurements. I have come acros...

Re: Just Starting back
With Kato you don't need underside point motors, they are integrated. All you need is a small hole drilled underneath to pass the lead through. One of the big reason I went over to Kato is that the system takes its power from a dedicated point switch attached to the side of the power unit and all fr...

Re: Make of track is straining my Brain
Kato, Kato, Kato......I've had about 4 layouts all using peco, but I found it a nightmare with wiring and point motors etc. A friend of mine suggested I take a look at Kato. Yes it is a little more pricey but so worth it. Everything is plug and play and the quality is excellent. The joins are always...

25mm kitchen worktop with 18mm MDF fixed ontop. It is very very rigid and no chance of warping. Its also fixed to the sides of the walls so its very stable, to be honest I can't actually move it without giving it a big kick so I'm pretty pleased with that.

Re: Kato Unitrack N gauge cleaning
Many thanks for that reply, I have just ordered some IPA and already got a track rubber on the way. I did suspect that the tried and tested remedies were always better rather than the Track Magic which didn't seem to work with the ease it seems to suggest. I haven't done anything in the way of wheel...
