Re: DCC Starter package.
That's given me food for thought, and as Iam not ready to swap over yet I might just wait. Thanks for the heads up.

DCC Starter package.
Hi everyone, I have been trying to source a decent DCC starter set something like the NCE Powercab or Gaugemaster Prodigy but they appear to be like 'hens teeth' just wondered if anyone else was having issues trying to find a suitable system. I had an NCE on pre order at Hattons but they never got a...

Re: Old triang Blue Pullman
Hi Brian, thanks for having a look, the track is all new nickel silver with droppers attached the old Blue Pullman has the knurled wheels and what a racket they make I rekon it slips a bit going up the incline which isn't to steep at 1:3, I had to put some washers in the power car to add some weight...

I have pasted a link to a video on my youtube channel, also feel free to have a look at my in progress layout build feel free to criticise. Admin if inappropriate or not allowed please delete. Re: DC to DCC.
Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me resurrecting this thread. Like the OP Iam considering changing to DCC from DC, I currently have three circuits controlled by a Gaugemaster D twin track controller and an H&M clipper, all circuits are isolated electrically with IRJ's at the crossings, points ar...

Re: Installing point motors
I am about to install some solenoid motors to my points and wondered if it is necessary/advisable to remove the tiny spring to aid operation? Hi As Richard has clearly and correctly stated, do not remove the Over Centre spring when using Solenoid point motors, such as Peco, Hornby, Seep etc. The on...

Re: Modifying points, Yes or No.
Goodness! Think I have opened a real can of worms here, thankfully my layout is DC as I have lots of old locomotives, also I haven't as yet done to much work so really glad I asked the question before I had got it all down. I am not planning on anything really extensive as long as I can run my old l...

Modifying points, Yes or No.
Do any of you guy's modify your points, I am talking about adding the droppers to the point and bridging over from the stock rail to the switch blades so that you don't rely on the blade contact for good continuity? Is this good practice to do this to every point on your layout regardless of whether...
