Great! Let us all know how you get on with that. Good luck.

Re: Stay alive Capacitors
Glad it is working for you. As I said, my PWM which provides great low speed performance, doesn't like them. Where I can, I fit extra pickups to help (in tenders mainly). I did a short YouTube on that; see @OOelectronics if interested.

Re: Stay alive Capacitors
I have found that the 220u 35V capacitors do make a difference on pure DC. I fitted thin strips of insulating tape over one side of the track spaced at exactly the wheel spacing on a Triang Jinty. At low speed, the loco would halt; at the same speed with the capacitor, it would manage to cross the t...

Re: track control
It is possible for an insulated frog to be shorted out accidentally so insulating both rails is just good practice. Thanks for that; I guess I've just been lucky over the years as never known that to happen. Assuming there are no other connections between the two tracks, the shorting would really n...

Re: track control
Thanks to both for your replies. I can understand why that would work (i.e. using both controllers). What I cannot understand is why the additional isolation is needed as both sides are isolated by the insulated frogs when the crossover is set to normal running.

Re: track control
I agree that, for these purposes, N and OO behave in the same way. I operate twin tracks with independent DC supplies and simply rely on the insulfrogs to isolate the tracks when running both tracks. When running over the crossover, either controller will power the locomotive and traverse from one t...

Re: RELCO track cleaners
I concur insofar as I bought Dapol and not had any issues. Must be 2 years ago so probably a sound purchase.

I use the kit from http://www.micronradiocontrol.co.uk. They have specific model railway radio modules. Excellent in every way. They also supply batteries, chargers, voltage converters and switch units. See my results on YouTube @OOElectronics.

Re: Ardunio users ?
Hello,
Yes, I use them. In buildings, wagons, locomotives, DC controls, signals and points controls. See YouTube @OOElectronics for more information!
