D.C. Cab control with PWM

If I "bus" a single oscillator between three cabs I would expect to be able to get a clean hand-over. Is there anything wrong with that idea? I am working on home-made controllers, so I have access to the internal jiggery-pokery :D 9.5m end-to-end so no problems with propagation delay, but...

The dumbest question is the one you didn’t ask. Plenty on here will offer answers to all and any question. From the cheap-seats...(All will become apparent if you read on...). I am returning after 55 years. From the days of "Hornby super 4". I am at the planning/drafting/drawing stage of a DC, 9.5 metre, end-to-end layout, in OO. I will be using Peco code 100 with electrofrogs. My question is.....
