Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

I bought this display unit about two years ago, and its been sitting in my "to do" box (it's a big box :( ) ever since. As I have been constructing a new work bench/control desk, I thought I would incorporate it in the facia of the bench. It shows voltage and amps going out to the layout, ...

Re: Is this a Unifrog

I would set a small test track, as you did before, and see whether it does what you want, before you start doing modifications.

Re: Insurance

I had been with the AA for car insurance for a number of years, and always found that when the renewal notice arrived, if I rang and said "I'm changing insurers" they always came up with a very attractive and acceptable figure. This year, they offered to reduce the new quote by about £12.0...

Good progress James. I think I would have used Peco Inspections pits - they come with either Codee 100 or 75 track, and would have saved you carving up the sleepers - I appreciate once "concreted" in place, they look as they should.

Re: For the gardeners ( if we have any? )

I actually don't mind cutting the grass. We have three one hundred foot plus Lime trees, and they produce a lot of leaves and twigs. My neighbour at the rear of the garden (forty seven years my neighbour) who has no trees, told me recently she picked up eighty three twigs!!! Not eighty two or eighty...

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!

The new work bench/control desk is now in place. Bolted to the layout on both sides and the rear - so I can stand on it  I have not made up mind whether to hinge the top or not? Still a lot of work to do, but some progress made. It is six inches deeper than the old one, which does mean a bit ...

I hope your neighbours didn't have the washing out on the line :(

I've just cut the grass - again. It must stop growing soon.

Re: 3Way Point Problems

Peco SL-99 is an insulfrog 3-way point (but not asymmetric) - no asymmetric available in insulfrog . I am not sure whether you could convert your electrofrog point into an insulfrog version. I'm not saying it is impossible, but you are talking about isolating parts of the point - this is the advanta...

Re: 3Way Point Problems

Linking the three rails either side is common practice with these points. I have done it with my two 3-ways, but used fuse wire rather than copper board - no need to remove any sleepers - you just remove the two shorter linking wires that Peco install and install your own. It looks from your picture...
