Converting a Hornby Edward 4-4-0

#1

Post by godiva1107 »

Thanks to Rails of Sheffield's current generous offer, I have acquired an Edward with a view to converting it to a freelance 4-4-0 of the Wessex & South Midlands Railway.

I need to replace the "face" smokebox door with a "real" smokebox door.
I'm keen to know which (Hornby?) smokebox doors will fit. I'd like to add smoke deflectors too.
Suggestions as to where I might find suitable parts would be much appreciated.

Sadie in Gourock.

Check Smallbrook Studio to see if they make anything. Also check Peters Spares.

There are a few on eBay for Hornby 4-4-0's.

Thank you both for your input.
An old Airfix "Schools" kit appears to satisfy my needs.
