I had one ride on a 350 BSA back in the late 60's. It was fitted with a full fairing - I couldn't adjust to turning the handle bars, but the fairing didn't move. Decided cars were better.

Hello Dynax,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am sure you are going to have some fun this summer and would not mind betting you Wil be putting your eyeing up something bigger soon.
I used to be into bikes many years ago most of them were Triumph's had a Black Shadow and a Manx Norton but most fun was had when I used to Sprint 500 Triumph's (They call it drag these days) Last bike I had was in the 90s when I had a 125 Honda which I used to go to work on in the summer as I was going soft and used the car in winter. Happy days............................John

I must have been fortunate! My brother and my best mate both did the blue lights and bells to A&E (West Hill too) at different times. I dropped the bike on a number of occasions but the fairing must have limited damage to a few bumps bruises and embarrassment. Fibre glass can and was fairly easy to repair!

My brother built his TRIBSA (T110 in a Super Rocket frame with RRT2 gearbox and Rickman plates) behind the settee in our front room, and fired it up first time while my mum and dad were watching TV. I cannot repeat what my father said, but the bike was in our back yard in less than 5 minutes! After he wrecked the bike on Thames Road, it was eventually rebuilt after all the metal pins in his legs had been removed, but he quickly moved on to a Reliant Regal . Unfortunately that didn't protect him, because a couple of years later the fire brigade had to cut the engine off him, following a head on with a car. Surprisingly he is still alive but it has left some residual mobility problems.

Reliants became bit of a family tradition after that. My mother had a Regal van, to which I added windows onto the van part so our little brothers could see out. She continued with Reliant Robins and Rialtos until her health forced her to give up driving at the age of 79. I got a Robin, and so did my brother.

Here we are in the Lake District! We both had Robins by then.

My advice - don't do it. Get something cheap to pass your test on - I can almost guarantee you will want something larger. Also, think about depreciation and dealer availability when buying a less well-known make.

Already bought and paid for, and is just a runabout instead of using the car or pushbike, and i bought new so i don't have to mess about with mot's for the first few years, my dealer 2 miles away are the main dealers for this brand, and they have an outstanding reputation for after sales service, also there is nothing else that takes my fancy, i looked a yamaha sr 125, and the ybr 125, but i just don't like the styling, it's not just a case of buying something cheap to ride, it's getting a bike i want to ride, i do appreciate the feedback though, Mike.
