I'm Happy.

I have a new car. It is not really new but for me it is new. And I like it... I had just enough money to tax and insure it and also part exchange to get it after selling some of my 00 gauge trains which I have not (Or rarely have) used.

Anything you are happy about? A new train? A car? Something else?

It's a little Mitsubishi. Not had one before. Well made little cars by the looks of it. Due to budget I didn't have a lot of choice in my area. Three cars. This was the best and the most suitable for my needs. It is a diesel and when I started it from cold a few days ago at the dealer (I couldn't test it that day as other cars were in the way) I was looking for the usual black smoke but nothing. It was by a wall and fence so it would have been very noticeable. I tested it the next day as it had been there for a few months so the tyres were a bit low etc. When I looked underneath if it wasnt for a rusty exhaust I would have thought it was a new car. I know the dealer as I have bought most of my cars from him in the past. The car had been reduced in price as he wanted the room as he is in a smaller premises then he used to be in.
It was funny. On the test drive I noticed the car suspension feels softer then the one I have just traded in (Which is a stiff suspension) and my mum said "It feels different, just like ***** car (My brother) does". I had to laugh as she didn't know but my brothers car is the same make and model, just his has a little 3 cylinder petrol engine. I think his is 1100cc and it doesn't half go with a nice sounding raspy exhaust. Not sure if mine has a 3 cylinder or a 4 cylinder diesel engine. I will have to take a look.
Well despite it's age it feels like a new car and looks like it as well...

Unless a diesel engine car has been thrashed MG you shouldn't get any smoke. My Volvo is nine years old and there is no smoke from the exhaust at all, even when accelerating hard. A Mitsubishi what?? BB

You’ll get a smoky motor that hasn’t been pushed too hard.

Carbon build up. Affects engines that idle for too long or are never pushed at all.
(Although it isn’t the only reason for smoke)

Cars that don’t normally get pushed, when they have to stick the pedal down you’ll know them!

That dirty great cloud of black smoke highlights them!

Back when I was a grease monkey I used to have to take my mums car to work for lumpy running, all it needed was a good blat down the dual carriageway and she was fine again, that is after she’d coughed the contents of her cylinders out the back end and into oblivion!
She being the car!

30mph and 5th gear is not good for your motor.
Bless her soul (my mum this time!).

Glad you’re happy! New to you cars are always fun!

I used to enjoy that ride, my younger self with a sports engine was Adrenalin inducing excitement of a kind that is hard to replicate by any other means.

I’m happy about a new loco!
I’m happy about a new musical venture!
I’m happy about a new career path that hopefully should work out!
I’m not happy that my car insurance and three tyres all came out this week.......ouch.

But I’m happy that they are taking pre orders on the rapier crane, I’m not amused by the price!

Although......I’ll be happy when it lands in my lap!

Rapier crane? Quior? Sorry. You've lost me there.

Do you mean "Do I have a 00 gauge crane for sale?" Umm. YES. I have two actually in B.R. Yellow. One is Lima and the other is Hornby. (75T types).
I do have a smaller crane (4 wheel) but I may keep that on for a 7m narrow gauge conversion.

Umm. Am I on the right thinking or at a wild tangent?

Sorry MG I got mixed up with Aviators post thinking it was you. If, you go to the bottom of post 6 you will see what I got mixed up with.
No I don't want another Crane as I have 2. A red version and an Early BR black weathered version. I am going to paint the red one Black when I get around to it. as they often worked in pairs I believe.
