Hi,

I've been lurking on various railway modelling forums for a few yrs, & recognise some names here, despite reading posts & mags and watching videos, I dont actually do any modelling, although now I have the time I might start up next yr.

I never had an 00 gauge train set as a child, so I'll be quite content if my activities are only ever 'playing with trains' ;)

Hi Yorkartman
Welcome to the forum.
Firstly you need to decide what scale/gauge you want to model in? 00 HO or N etc. That will then allow you to determine a track plan for the 5 x 4 feet space.

Hi Yorkartman, welcome to the forum. This link will take you to a directory of model shops and suppliers in the UK. They are probably not all there but it should give you a good starting point. Let us know how you get on. R-

Hello, I suppose I should say its nice to be back, even though I missed all the excitement. Will have to try and do our best to rebuild sounds like a good reason to go shopping so we have lots of new things to show :)

Hi Everyone,
I think that this is a good place to put my first post on the new MRF. I can only echo what so many people have already said, it's nice to be back. I'll have to get myself set up on a photo hosting website such as Flickr and then you will be able to see any ( small ) changes that have taken place on the Shankly and Gdynia Railway, Ian Alan

PS I must say that the new forum offers a very generous choice of smilie faces 8-)
