Had an Octavia and loved it, but as we were fostering children with special needs at the time we needed an estate for easy wheel chair storage. Do you think we could find one!! They were like rocking horse do-do.

We ended up with a Mondeo estate. Lovely car to drive, but it developed a fault. £3000 later and Ford still couldn't fix it

Traded that in for a Volvo - now there is a car that I love. Only down side is that it has so many safety features, I sometimes end up telling it to shut-up and stop yelling at me

A glimmer of progress.
My new advert has prompted a viewing for the Mazda tomorrow morning and a call to the Ford dealer means a Kuga is on its way for me to check out next week. :D

Steve, good luck with your sale. Kugas look quite sporty. Nothing like volvo quality, of course, but servicing and spare parts, no doubt, much cheaper. We were always very happy with our fords. Two of my Barclays company cars were fords. When we decided to part with our Discovery, we only looked at Automatics, and were very lucky that local farmer was selling our current volvo, v 50, simply to upgrade to v70, in order to fit in his increased family. French do not like automatics, so it proved hard for him to find a buyer. Has all worked out. Could have just as easily, been any make. Our only criteria, being, budget, Auto, diesel, and 5 door.

Fingers crossed all goes well Steve.

John (yelrow) - I drive a Volvo XC70 - good solid, comfortable car and 35mpg (urban).

Hi, Barry, good to hear you have similar car. Mine seems to run on air. Goes for ages on full tank of diesel. Computer keeps showing more and more kilometres if you drive carefully. We compete on long trips to see who can gain the most. Makes a change from discovery, who had this penchant for needing regular diesel top ups.
