Re: Little Weldon
Been a little while since I've viddied Little Weldon. Progress is amazing. The Sir
Nigel is breathtaking piece. I seem to have a recollection of seeing it, or
one of its class, when I was a wee lad of six. Amazed me then, and amazes
me now. Love the vintage photos of Little Weldon's precursor. An ingenious
micro layout. Following that, the B&W images harken a different time, very
nice.

Hello all
I've had a good weekend. A couple of finds at the Car Boot sale to start with. Firstly an A3 reprint of the 1937 LMS poster Scot meets Scot. This is a really great poster. Loads of colour, loads of action, and very Art Deco too. This is now hanging above Weldon station. £3.00. I also found a pair of mint boxed Oxford diecast vehicles for £4.50 needless to say these are now on the layout.
Work has been continueing on Castle Hill and the polystyrene has now been covered with Mod Roc and plaster it has received its base coat of greenish brown paint. I shall give this a few days to settle down and harden up. Before putting down anymore scenic treatment.
I have been experimenting still further in making my own mouds.I have discovered that if you keep to the same depth casing as the Linka moulds then you need no additional bracing. The liquid Latex is thinner than Copydex so more coats are needed to create the mould.
I have also been trying out some of Timbersurf's acetate windows on a row of Terraced housing. These are working out well and look much better in reality than on a screen. They will be a boost for anyone working in Links or scratchbuilding.

Hello all
Castle news.
I have now made moulds for all four elevations of the Castle Keep. I constructed the originals from standard Linka tiles, which I then "ruined". My moulds have enabled me to cast each wall section in one piece, or even produce multiples. Whereas Linka buildings have the textured faces of the tiles facing out, here I have two elevations facing inwards so that the stonework faces the viewer all round.

Hello all
After a month of neglect over this weekend I managed to carry out some more work on Little Weldon's Castle. I have now assembled the outer walls of the Keep around a card floor. I have done this to a/ strengthen the Walls b/ to make it easier to paint c/ to be able to construct the internal walls. The collapsing internal walls I have made using standard Linka tiles suitably ruined. I am quite impressed with how this is starting to look. My thoughts are now turning to the Bailey walls this will require shaping around the landscape as well as "ruining"

Re: Little Weldon
That all looks very good. Can’t wait to see it painted and weathered. After sufficient “ruining” of course. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.
