If they put it on a plinth in Cardiff, would that be "The Plinth of Wales"??

Quickly ducks for cover!

I have fond memories of 5000 being based at my local locoshed (8E Northwich) for a few days en-route to the Rocket 150 celebrations in May 1980.

Other locos there at the time were A4 Sir Nigel Gresley, Merchant Navy Clan Line and Standard 4 Tank 80079.

Although I missed it myself, they even had 5000 pilot one of the ICI hopper trains up the viaduct between Northwich and Oakleigh sidings.

The Area Manager at Northwich at the time was a steam enthusiast, including being a volunteer driver on the Severn Valley Railway.
