Over the Alps.....
Re: Over the Alps.....
Well rain or not they're cracking photos. Especially the first one, very atmospheric.
And the Lord said unto John “Come forth and receive eternal life”, but John came fifth and won a toaster!

A shortish video from yesterday's footplate experience. It has a number of things going for it, I'm not in it, there is no 'unboxing', no commentary and I'm still not in it (but the dog is).

Re: Over the Alps.....
That was great. Always amazes me how quick steam locos accelerate and how quickly they are travelling when they enter a station to stop.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: Over the Alps.....
Glad you liked it.
We had a fantastic day yesterday even with the rain - shame the Ivatt has a sun-roof.
The MHR is running a truncated route this year as a replacement road bridge is being built between Medstead and Alton. Should have been completed last month but it’s now looking like October at the earliest!
That has an impact on their plans for the Autumn Gala - they are planning for no guest locos this year, just the home fleet to take centre stage.
Having said that, The Bluebell have announced ‘Britannia’ and ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ - should be worth a look.

Hi Steve
Glad you had a good day, in spite of all the buggeration factors.
Looks like a day at the Bluebell could be on the cards

They’ve not released a schedule or any indication of how long they are in residence. It’s just after our main hols - I can guarantee I’ll be working! At worst I’ll be there for the Sunday but hoping they hold them over for a couple of days into the following week.Postman Prat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:46 pm
