This layout never sleeps ! There is always something on the move !

What started as a little railway to run a few 0.4.0 locomotives that I had 'lying around' has 'like Topsy' grown and grown. Now I have three Railway Companies on the layout and I run trains as such. Okay, the timescale is supposed to be 1914 and many items are 'wrong', (Rivet counters are barred.) but Rule 1 applies throughout -- until the grandchildren visit.

Most of all, it is a really 'fun' layout to operate.

I like that bridge, the drawers underneath add a certain something too.

The bridge was made over two years ago. It can actually lift off, (but not often).

The drawers are marked London/Edinburgh East Coast. London/Glasgow West Coast. Aberdeen. Inverness. They have diesel engines in them to run on my diesel layout.

Why the naming on the drawers? If a train departs to London via Glasgow; upon arriving at the fiddle yard the engine is placed in the London/Glasgow drawer. I now know that engine cannot suddenly arrive at Glenburnie from Aberdeen; only from London. Simple yet effective.

Yesterday, a friend gave me the T W Gascoigne Traction Engine. Having two traction engines does that make a collection?

love the traction engines, the plastic yellow wheels might be worth painting yellow to tone the plastic look down, but regardless nice little touches

talking of yellow, i notice the figure with yellow hair, grrr i hate the manufacturers who do that, if they use ochre (you can over paint yourself) the figures stop standing out like road work neon signs LOL.

The wheels on the traction engine are the next job on the list.

I am impatient. As much as the Hattons four wheelers are looking good. Waiting a couple of years maybe for them would drive me crazy.
Having a small surplus of Hornby four wheelers, I thought of repainting a couple or three.

Here are my efforts. Not 100% but they are better than not running at all. Now they are 'through coaches from other areas'.

The two coaches next to the engine have (imo ) the GWR ness removed and are now in Leeds Scarcroft & Wetherby Railway Livery.

Here is 'Clarabel' from the Thomas the Tank range repainted, It could do with another coat of paint. Don't worry friends of Thomas; I have another set of Annie and Clarabel coaches.
