Re: Train Truckers
Haven’t watched it yet but did they get whole trains on to a trailer or just the loco? Must have been very long.

Re: Train Truckers
You missed my point John. A train is the loco and all the coaches or wagons hence the need for a long trailer.

Just become 76, May be losing my wits. Still don’t know why it could not have moved on track.
Re: Train Truckers
At a guess I would say it’s quicker, cheaper, saves unnecessary wear on the loco and the start and/or finish points may not have a link to Network Rail.

Twas going to line regularly used by steam, and flying scotsman, was on same line. recently. Peut Etre, crewe works, not now connected, being privately owned. Great display of truck driving, though, far more interesting that towing it down.
Re: Train Truckers
MNR recently had a situation where a pair of visiting locos could not ‘drive’ in due to being out of gauge, yet one of them was there in a previous year and turned up again later this year, both times over the metals, although they do normally get visitors on the back of a lorry due to lack of any possible metals route.
