Multiple point motors

#1

Post by station master »

Gents I am looking for your guidance once again!

I have started the basic wiring of my point motors, cdu, switch to a solenoid point motor works fine, but now how do I add additional point motors?

I get the fact I need another switch but do I just simple link all together or is it more complex

Assuming you want to control the next motor separately from the first, then wire new motor to the new switch the same as the first one. Link the middle tab or wherever the input to the first switch arrives from the CDU positive to the next switch middle tab etc and so on for all other switches
Out on the layout the CDU negative wire going to the first motor needs extending onto the second and any subsequent motors.

Thanks Brian, I assume the negative just loops around to each motor

Yes that's absolutely correct. Daisy chain the negative motor to motor or use one wire and tap off that to one or more motors locally.
This give the basic idea... Link to motor return wiring
