Signalling on the WR main line after 1963 resignalling

#1

Post by Tallpaul70 »

Hi All,

I am looking to signal an 00 gauge model based on the WR main line east of Reading after the 1963 resignaling.

This brought colour light signals to the main and relief lines. The only exceptions were the semaphores around Maidenhead for the High Wycombe and Marlow branch.

I like Dapols for the semaphores and DCC concepts for the electric ground signals but what are folk's experience/recommendations for the main colour light signals and the mechanical ground signals?

Thanks
Paul

Traintronics do a very good selection of colour light signals. They do versions that can work as a stand alone signalling system or that can integrate with the dcc system. I've had a play with a couple of different makes and I think that when the time comes I 'll be using their stand alone system on my layout simply because I don't want the signalling and driving of trains to be done on same system (that's just because I'm a signalman in real life and would find it wierd any other way :D )
