Bent pin

#1

Post by yelrow »

This is for the camera guys. Through pure stupidity when inserting my compact flash card in my SLR, i have bent a pin right over. Camera now will not work when card put in. Any suggestions welcome, as Olympus will not entertain repair due to age, and camera shops here, are like hens teeth. john

My only suggestion John is to try and get it back into the correct position. You have nothing to lose if you damage it and all to gain if you succeed.

merci beaucoup. Job gor when i have a tad more patience. Have been looking on ebay, for just a body, as have lenses. Very annoying, as my pride and joy , and just grabbed it, when flock of storks landed in my field. Less haste more speed, should it ever get repaired.

That would be a Muster or Phalanx of storks John, but Flock does the job.

OK, to get back on topic and offer a suggestion: https://photo.stackexchange.com/questio ... hat-myself

Some way down that thread it suggests a BIC style pen to prise the pin a little and fine needle point plyers. It will depend on your dexterity (and nerve) and the ability to see which pin is bent.

The slot for an SD card is usually as wide as the card, about 3 mm. The end of a jewellers screwdriver might work.
