One of the guest locos, Duchess of Sutherland has been withdrawn from the October gala - being replaced by Mayflower.
Not sure why.

Loco failure according to Heritage Rail.

But apparently it’s now fixed and returning to the mainline this Friday.

Can’t quite understand why it remains withdrawn from the gala though.

I reckon they’ve asked for more money.

Could be. Perhaps they had already booked the replacement loco and decided they couldn’t afford the Duchess as well.

Very difficult photo conditions on a very soggy day. I managed to catch up with PP just about at the point where he had given up trying to stay dry.
