Fully encased in plaster bandage and painted. The non-scenic sides and base will get a coat of black acrylic once this lot has hardened off.

Lift off hillside in place to check for clearances and fit. Now to let it dry thoroughly.

A happy coincidence.
I also sprayed all the new track in this section with Humbrol no. 29 ahead of ballasting. And, doing the work in all the wrong order, I must add a couple more droppers as there are a couple of stretches where the locos falter slightly.
Must stock up on my scatter materials to finish it off. Oh yes there’s the other end of the layout ........and the engine shed area. That’s this winter sorted.

My short section of Z gauge track arrived earlier and has now been fitted and ballasted to the hillside - at some point I will have to track down either a couple of wagons or chassis to add to the impression of a narrow gauge mine track.
I had intended to ballast the tracks at this end of the layout but have run out of raw materials.
Now a whinge - I’m fortunate to have two model shops within a few miles, but it seems my favoured shop is reducing its N gauge lines and not re-ordering. I do hope this is not a sign of something more serious.
The other shop used to have eight parking spaces - essential as it is on a very busy road with very restrictive parking restrictions all round. But now half the spaces are permanently occupied by two derelict vans - cuts down foot flow and isn’t exactly inviting. The remaining four spaces had two cars blocking them so no sale today.
And they wonder why internet suppliers are doing so well.

Looks very good - I assume the Z gauge wagons will be attached to a small loco of sorts - going back and forth to the drop?
