Track diagram conventions.

#1

Post by RSR Engineer »

Would someone please tell me if there is a general consensus on how to indicate a power feed on a track diagram? I have always drawn two triangles facing each other apex-to-apex, one black and the other white. Is there a convention as to which is feed and which is return? One reason I ask is if I publish a track diagram, I don't to confuse people by getting the triangles the wrong way round.

Cheers and many thanks,
Artur

Hi

I use triangles on all my plans where the wires from the controller are not shown..
Feed = Red or other colour where indicating a switched feed (Isolating section ect) and Black as the return. This can be common return or individual returns. I also use red and black feed triangles on DCC wiring.
Typical example... https://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/images/ ... 20frog.gif

OK, Brian, many thanks. It seems then to be enough that I am consistent within my own graphics.

Cheers,
Artur
