SHADDEHOLME
Re: SHADDEHOLME
I’ve now added a mix of earth, green and black from the Woodland Scenics Range to the textured areas and brushed them out to give a rough mix. I then sprayed it all with slightly soapy water which tends to let the colours leech into each other.
It looks a bit like treacle at this stage but it should be ok when (if) it dries.

Re: SHADDEHOLME
Not a lot of activity on the layout while the glue and paint has been drying properly. But I have started trying a few structures in slightly different places.
Not really sure the small engine shed is needed although it does make this corner suitably cramped and I think the goods shed should face the other way and may have to shorten the adjacent siding to accommodate that. Alternatively I could set the end of that siding in DAS clay to create a hard standing with both rail and road use.
The small garage is a new addition which I think works reasonably well tucked into a corner of the yard.

Still experimenting - removed the shed and coal merchant and mocked up the change to the goods shed.

Started preparing the area of hardstanding and inset track alongside the goods shed today.

In between gardening and scrubbing weathering powder off a Black 5, I got the basic colours into the revised goods shed area.
I think I will soon be having an ‘airbrush day’ across much of the layout to add some grime.
