The Mosquito is probably my second favourite WW2 aircraft after the Supermarine Spitfire. It was such a versatile machine, and looks good too.

Hopefully they can raise the funds - it's not a cheap restoration. The one in the video - restored in New Zealand cost $10m.

In fact one was built at BAE Chester a few years ago and could be see flying over Shrewsbury occasionally, what a sight
There is also one at Lincolnshire museum also a Lanc ,I was there recently and was told both are hopefully going to return to the air in the future at the present they only taxi but even that is brilliant,I turned up just as the mosquito started up and carried out a taxi run, in the season both a/c taxi on alternate days and the lanc can even take passengers.the museum is well worth a visit if your in that area. The address is Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.

Was it not the BAE one that crashed a few years ago (1996)? Sadly both crew were killed.

Yes it was. More than a few years ago. There hasn’t been a flying Mossie in the UK since then.
