Curses - replacement of tender plug needed

Noting erratic running of one of my two Hornby T9’s I note that one of the connecting wires has detached from the tender plug. As it appears impossible to return it I have ordered a new plug and harness. I am not a stranger to hard wiring non DCC locos for DCC and without having yet removed the body am presuming that replacing the tender connector and harness on this DCC ready loco will be a similar exercise? Comments anyone?

Can’t wait for the promised magnetic connection of loco and tender promised for Dapol’s Wainright D. Hornby’s tender connectors seem to me to be the work of the devil!
