I was given an older Mobility Scooter from an aunt for use by my mother. It had the same problem. It hadn't been charged for over a year, appeared to take the charge but nada, nothing. Not even the horn!

I bought replacement batteries online - wrong ones (dimensions wrong), so bought more.... worked a treat.

Take the battery pack apart and see if you can source the same batteries or ones with the same dimensions and watt/hrs.

The battery pack on the one I had was 2 x 12v - can't remember the other specs and I no longer have the scooter.

My wife uses a scooter.
We get it serviced and checked over every two years.
Suggest you have the battery checked. A reputable Company will charge around a tenner.
If the battery is okay, that’s it.
If new batteries are required , they cost about £100.
A reputable company guarantee the batteries for a length of time.

Have the charger checked also. Well worth the original tenner.

Getting the charger checked is a very good idea, although I'm not sure how or where one would go as they are closed boxes. All that could be checked is that the output voltage is as on the box (or near) to charge the batteries and that it doesn't have an earth leakage.

The original charger I was given (that came with the scooter) continually tripped out the power when used in the caravan on holiday. A replacement did not.
