In the right place at the right time................

#1

Post by bulleidboy »

A couple of months ago one of the support arms on one of our two garage doors snapped - they had been there for forty one years, and spares were no longer available. A quote for two new doors etc., came in at just over £2k. As the door concerned was rarely opened we decided to stay as we are.

I walked down the road today to get a newspaper, and there on a neighbours drive was a van, and a man fitting a new electric garage door - the old one and all the fitments were lying on the lawn. I asked if I could have one of the support arms off the old door, and he said help yourself, as did my neighbour. So I now have the replacement arm, and a spare for the other side - for free. If I hadn't walked down the road when I did, the job would have been finished and the old door etc., taken away. So a good bit of "wombling" today.

He may regret his post.

He just needs to grow a beard.

Replacement support arm fitted this afternoon - took ten minutes. With spring assistance even SWMBO can now open the door!
