When I was working at the Noise Monitoring Unit at Heathrow early one morning in 1969, a guy came out and asked me to move my official vehicle to stop the aircraft flying over his house. I said they didn’t fly over me but I parked under them. I then asked how long he had lived there and he said 2 years. I said that the airport had been their since the 40’s and asked if he ever flew. Oh yes he said, but I go from Luton.
