Diesel / hydraulic electric models

Ooh. Question. Class 02's. I have seen books saying they were diesel hydraulic and others have said they were diesel electric. Were there some electric and others hydraulic?

Hydraulic transmission was fairly common .
The following BR classes were classed as diesel hydraulic.

D0227 (no TOPS class)
D600 to D604 (no TOPS class)
D800 to D832 (class 42)

D866 to D870 (class 42)
D1000 to D1073 (class 52)
D2700 to D2707 (no TOPS class)
D2708 to D2780 (no TOPS class)

D2900 to D2913 (no TOPS class)

D7000 to D7100 (class 35)
D9600 to D9555 (class 14)

Hydraulic transmission was also used in industrial diesel shunters, notably the Rolls Royce Sentinel 4 and 6 wheel shunters such as Hornby introduced a few years ago.
