We Have This Issue With Models...
I was doing a quick browse and this was recommended on YouTube. Not having a clue what it says as isn't in English... It was only short so I looked... Gosh! What a frightening thing to happen.

Surprising how heavy even an empty wagon can be. Also surprising how the people didn't take much notice even though they saw it. It is like it didn't register with the normal way of life. Must have been morning commuters... Often thought that taking people to work on the trains... If I painted the trees in the street near their station pink they probably wouldn't notice as they walked passed on their way to work.
Just noticed. Itr was 0520ish PM.

I would guess the wagon was loaded, it looks like a covered bulk carrier and probably loaded with something like cement. It would probably weigh between 50 - 100 tonnes. Run-away vehicles are fortunately very rare nowadays because most vehicles are fitted with automatic brakes, but there are circumstances where the air brake can 'leak off' and if the staff have forgotten to screw down the parking brake and there is any noticeable gradient they vehicle will eventually move off on its own.
In the UK there are usually trap points near the outlet from sidings on to the main line specifically to prevent accidents of this nature. These throw any errant wagons away frim the running lines, usually tipping it onto a bit of spare ground. It being preferable for the wagon to derail at low speed in the sidings than escape on to the main line. This is not the case all over the world unfortunately.
Run away vehicles do occur here but usually the circumstances are unusual. A few years ago during engineering operations a platelayer's trolley loaded with scrap rail was left on a gradient in Cumbria and unfortunately the brakes were defective. It started to move down hill on its own, and tragically it collided with another work gang working lower down.

Watched this a few times now and am amazed at the person in the orange top by the glass doors! Everyone else is running away and even when the thick cloud of dust sweeps in they just seem to stand there
Very odd...

Very odd...
And the Lord said unto John “Come forth and receive eternal life”, but John came fifth and won a toaster!
