That’s come up very well Barry. You’re right, it needs a bit more ‘roughness’ added. I would go to static grass personally just to get the varied lengths.
I would also put a bit of PVA on some of the rock ledges with a small brush and sprinkle some more scatter for weeds and grasses growing in nooks and crannies.
How about trying your hand at rough hedges and scrub from rubberized horsehair?

Thank you Barry that is very kind. I have had a look at a couple of the YT videos and the manufacture part looks fairly straightforward [one submission seemed to make a complete dogs breakfast of it] - so I will have to get my head around how to go about the basic construction of the "hill". Probably needs to be "lift out" for ease during the build.

I am thinking this might be a good scenic treatment for a sharp incline incorporating some tunnel portals I am thinking of at one end of the layout. I'll post a picture or two tomorrow - when I get everything set up and let you see what I talking about.

Did you get your P.o.P bandage at Hobby Craft as well?

Roger - I did get the P.o.P bandage at Hobby Craft. They do there own, which is 3" x 3m and costs £1 - the WS bandage is about 8" wide and possibly a little longer but cost £9. The own brand is the better option - it all does the same job. Barry

Hi Steve - that was the next stage, but before I do that I need to spray the whole lot with scenic cement, and then work on the nooks and crannies. Barry

I've added a couple of WS Course Turf colours, to give a bit of texture to the surface - have still to experiment with the static grass. There is now a bit of greenery on some of the cliff ledges - I will add some bushes and then have to start playing with the Seafoam (trees). The cottage has gone back into its box!

I like it. If you don’t mind me saying I think the grass along the edges is too straight. There should be some growing down over the edge and some where the grass isn’t near the edge.

There are one or two "straight edges" that need roughing-up a bit. A few bushes etc. should help, and as you say some greenery hanging over the edge.
