Change of car? Maybe.
Re: Change of car? Maybe.
If I didn’t know you better I’d say you made that up. Unfortunately and sadly, it is entirely believable. Hope you get it sorted soon. This is the wrong season to have a duff battery. R-

Oh it gets better Roger.
I’ve just come back from the Halfords Autocentre who say they can’t supply the battery I want as it’s a Halfords ‘retail’ item. A bit odd as it’s also the battery of choice when you try and use the Autocentre website.
The one they can supply is twice the price - and these things make the price of Hornby locos look reasonable!
I suggest that as the battery I want is sitting behind the counter of Halfords shop only three miles away could I go and buy that and get the Autocentre to fit it. “Yes sir, but there is a fitting fee - £50”
So, not the £15 you advertise online then.
Needless to say neither of the Halfords outlets have had my business today. I think I need to compose one of my ‘special’ emails to the CEO.

That's ridiculous. Talk about left hand ≠ right hand. R-

Can’t you just buy the battery and get a small car service garage do the job.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: Change of car? Maybe.
Do you have auto stop/start Steve? They are specialist batteries and Ford may well try to hold you to warranty ransom if you go elsewhere. Just a thought. R-

Re: Change of car? Maybe.
I could do but I don’t see why I can’t get the service as advertised. To be honest, I can do the job myself apart from resetting the bl##dy computer.Walkingthedog wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 4:48 pm Can’t you just buy the battery and get a small car service garage do the job.

Yes Roger, it does have stop/start but no worries about warranty as the car is five years old and out of warranty now.

Re: Change of car? Maybe.
when i had my disco, had similar worry about computer, so, used battery from heathers car, with jump leads, purely to keep, electrics, undisturbed. Changed big, disco battery, then unclipped jump leads, and status quo, as before. No interuption, in computer, clock, or owt. Just a thought. john

That’s certainly an option John, but now waiting to see what my missive to Halfords Ivory Towers brings.
