We've done our change through MoneySavingExpert.com Cheap Energy Club. On our current usage they say we will save £397.00 (a very precise figure), and they, MSE, will pay us £25 (£12.50 for each - Gas & Elec.) for swapping. For many, and I include myself, swapping has always been considered to much hassle, but it's not. Time will tell, but if we don't like it, we can swap again.

I swap gas and electricity suppliers regularly, but have so far resisted having smart meters fitted. Maybe when I'm too old to read the gas meter in the box outside (the electricity meter in the garage is easy).

A review of utility supply is, in my opinion, something that is always good to do periodically and certainly when you reach the end of a contract. There are so many 30 day, no exit fee, 100% renewable energy suppliers out there now and they are pratically falling over themselves to get you on board. I've just changed back to Bulb who reduced my monthly fee from £120 with one of the big 6, to £99 and now £64. No idea if that will keep up with useage but they are definitely proactive at reviewing your payments. No brainer in my view. R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Smart meters are a waste of time and I won't change to any supplier that insists me having one. Regularly reviewing your supplier however is not a waste of time. As someone else says above Martin Lewis Energy Club is a great way to see what you can save and generally comes with a cash back offer which I've had a few of now
Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician
