When the memsahib’s test fell due they didn’t send a card, just an appointment time.
Imagine her surprise when the appointment involved a endoscope and copious amounts of lube.

Oh the joys of getting old.

On top of my new found heart issue, I have for years suffered with severe rhinitis. Not normally a problem until I get a cold which can take some time to shift. My latest cold (started 4/12/19) has, as expected been a s*d to shift, and this week it’s teamed up with the rhinitis. Two days off work - first time in twelve years - and another trip to the doctors.

Now on steroids and antihistamines to try and stop the runny nose and resultant uncontrollable coughing (sleeping is not an available option with this condition).

Also offered another hospital referral to ENT where they will undoubtedly try and stick another camera up my nose (hope it’s not the same one they used on the memsahib ).

The real kicker is the six months I have to wait for the damned appointment.

Tell me about it Steve - I had my trip to the respiratory clinic yesterday afternoon to collect my kit for checking whether I'm suffering with sleep apnea.

Which I had to sign for, as failure to return it meant I would receive a bill for £2500. Ever tried sleeping with a clip on your finger, two pipes up your nose and a box with green flashing lights strapped to your chest - great fun. Anyway I returned it this morning, and now await my fate! Barry

I’ve heard that some normally fine, upstanding members of society (M.P.s and High Court judges for example) pay quite a lot for ‘sessions’ like that.

I've been using a CPAPS machine for about ten years now. You soon get used to the inconvenience, in fact its like a car seat belt, if you try to go to sleep without it you soon know that something's not right. Taking it on holiday is a bind but we dont go abroad now so no big deal. Wife loves it because I don't snore anymore!

Yes! , I had to have one last year after my admission to an ITU , suffering from heart failure, Pneumonia and Sepsis. I could not get to sleep with on. The pressure on my finger and the flashing light kept me awake, i was so annoyed by the thing i got up at 05:00hrs and i had it signed back in at Redditch Hospital before 06:00 hrs.
